• Any individual, association or the ACSA executive may nominate an individual for any award category.
  • Nominations are to be made on the prescribed ACSA nomination form, endorsed by the submitting association, signed by the association president, and submitted to the national awards committee before closing date.
  • Nominations will close each year on the 31st of July. They should be sent to the ACSA Secretary in a sealed envelope marked for the attention of the awards committee.
  • The nomination must provide details of the nominee’s involvement with the ostomy community and give reasons why the nominating association believes the nominee should receive an award.
  • The awards committee will consider the nomination, and if it endorses an award, will forward its recommendation with the accompanying supporting documentation to the ACSA president.
  • The final decision to confer or deny the award rests with the ACSA president.
  • The awards will be announced at the annual conference of the Australian Council of Stoma Associations, at a time deemed appropriate in conference business.
  • All communications between the committee and the president will be confidential and there will be no communication with anyone about the nominations or awards before the ACSA president announces the awards.
  • In the event that the awards committee declines a nomination, it will as a courtesy provide the nominating association with a concise explanation of its reasons for doing so. However, the committee will not enter into correspondence or discussion about its decision, and will not review its decision.
  • An unsuccessful nomination may, at the discretion of the nominating association, be resubmitted in the ensuing years after the initial submission. No specific period of time need elapse before a nomination is resubmitted.
