Common Questions

Before You Contact Us

You may find the answer to your question below. If not, we're always happy to hear from you.

How do I register for the Stoma Appliance Scheme?
To register for the SAS, you'll need a completed registration form signed by your doctor or Stomal Therapy Nurse, along with proof of your Medicare or DVA eligibility. Contact your nearest stoma association to begin the process. Learn more about registration →
How do I order stoma products?
Stoma products are ordered through your registered stoma association — not through ACSA directly. Each association has its own ordering process (online, phone, fax or in person). Find your association →
Which association should I join?
You can register with any of ACSA's 19 member associations across Australia. Most people join the association closest to their home. Use our Association Finder to search by your suburb or postcode, or contact ACSA and we'll help you find the right one.
Can I transfer my membership to a different association?
Yes. If you move interstate or simply prefer a different association, you can transfer your SAS registration. Contact your current association to arrange the transfer, or get in touch with ACSA for guidance.
Where can I find a Stomal Therapy Nurse?
The Australian Association of Stomal Therapy Nurses (AASTN) maintains a directory of qualified STNs across Australia. Search the AASTN directory ↗
I'm travelling — can I get products interstate or overseas?
Yes. Before travelling within Australia, contact the association in your destination state to arrange supply. For overseas travel, order extra supplies in advance through your home association. See our Travel Resources for detailed guidance.
